You asked

I am doing a report on Rubella and I would like to know how many deaths there have been in the UK, that have been caused by Rubella.

Thank you for your enquiry.

We are responsible for the production of mortality statistics for England and Wales. For figures relating to deaths registered in Scotland and Northern Ireland data you will need to contact National Records of Scotland and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Centre, respectively.

The number of deaths due to Rubella are available as part of our explorable dataset available on our NOMIS webservice

Select the geography (England and Wales, regional or by local authority).

Select Age – All ages or 5-year age bands.

Select Gender – Total or Male/Female

Select rates – All deaths, rates or percentage of population for example.

Select cause of death (ICD10 code search is available – codes B06 correspond to Rubella).

Select format (Excel or CSV for example)

If this does not meet your needs, we may be able to create a custom output. Information on deaths due to and involving Rubella along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate).
