Could you please provide us with market research and statistics on the number of children and families with children aged 0-12, as well as information on schools and nurseries within a 7-mile radius of Bayswater Rd, London W2 3JH.
We said
Thank you for your freedom of information request.
Our main responsibilities are collecting, analysing, and disseminating statistics about the UK's economy, society, and population. Although we collaborate on a variety of initiatives including research projects and exploring innovative data sources, methods, and technology, we do not conduct market research.
The census collects data on children and families and data can be provided for areas which have statutory boundaries such as counties, districts, wards, and parishes.
The standard Census 2021 datasets relate to the topics you have requested, and are available for the London Boroughs, and for the wards in London, from which you can select the exact geographical area you are interested in. These can be found in the following links:
- TS007 - Age by single year (all London Boroughs) All usual residents

- RM034 - Family status by number of parents working by economic activity status (all London Boroughs) All usual residents in families with dependent children
- RM034 - Family status by number of parents working by economic activity status (all wards within all London Boroughs) All usual residents in families with dependent children
We have also published some ad hoc census analysis datasets by local authority area which may be of interest to you:
- Dependent children by family type and age: Census 2021
- Household characteristics of dependent children: Census 2021
- Households containing dependent children: Census 2021
The only way to access Census 2021 by radius is by using the Build a custom area profile tool. This allows users to create a custom geography by drawing on a map and then build up a profile of charts by selecting from a range of 2021 Census topics. Users can enter a postcode and that will zoom in on a selected area. You can then use the radius tool to draw the area you want to cover. Please see associated download for instructions on how to use this tool and the relevant data available.
We do not collect Information on schools and nurseries. This is the remit of the Department for Education and their contact details can be found here.
