Number of 0-19-year-olds who have been tested and those who have tested positive:

Our COVID-19 Infection Survey is a representative household survey which estimates the number of people testing positive for COVID-19.

In the following data set, which accompanies our latest bulletin, the following information can be found:

  • The percentage of those testing positive for COVID-19 by age/school year and non-overlapping 14-day periods (weighted) in England on Tab 1h
  • Response rates for England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland on tabs 7b, 7c, 7d and 7e respectively

Hospitalisations:

Unfortunately, we do not hold information regarding hospitalisations. This part of your request would be better placed with NHS Digital. They can be contacted via email at enquiries@nhsdigital.nhs.uk.

Number of 0 to 19-year-old deaths after testing positive for COVID-19 with no underlying health conditions:

In order to provide COVID-19 deaths with no underlying health conditions broken down into the age group 0 to 19 from March to November 2020, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.

However, the following information relating to your request may be of interest.

Deaths from COVID-19 with no pre-existing conditions by age ranges can be found in the following dataset: Deaths involving COVID-19, England and Wales. Please see the following table, which has been taken from this dataset.

We also publish monthly mortality analysis which includes deaths due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and leading causes of death, however this data is not yet available by age band: Monthly mortality analysis, England and Wales
