We wish to request under the FOIA the following:
A list of all mergers and acquisitions of UK based companies from 2018 to date including the target company (i.e taken over) and predator company (the company taking over).
Please provide names of these companies and the value of the takeover.
If known please provide the name of the subsequent registrar appointed to deal with the takeover on behalf of the shareholders
If this information is available on your website please direct us to the appropriate area.

To the extent that we do hold any of the requested information, we are unfortunately unable to release this to you, as this is personal information about a business. Section 39 of the Statistics and Regulation Service Act 2007 (SRSA) renders it an offence to disclose information held by the Statistics Board (ONS) for statistical purposes that would identify an individual business. As we are prohibited by law from disclosing this information, the exemption found under Section 44(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) applies.
