Thank you for your Freedom of Information request regarding the number of persons from Commonwealth countries that are currently resident in the UK (with and without leave to remain).
The following dataset, Population of the UK by country of birth and nationality: individual country, provides estimates of the resident UK population broken down by individual country of birth and citizenship. The most recent edition of these data is for the period from January 2019 to December 2019.
A list of the countries that comprise the Commonwealth can be located in the 'Citizenship Groupings' and 'Country of Birth Groupings' tabs of the International migration – table of contents.
Please note that estimates of the population of the UK by country of birth and nationality for the period from July 2019 to June 2020 are currently scheduled for publication in early 2021. For more information about our upcoming releases, please consult the ONS release calendar.
At the Office for National Statistics, we do not produce data on the rights of persons from Commonwealth countries to remain in the UK.
