I am looking for data of:
- Total number of measles notifications in England and Wales per year and
- Total number of deaths due to measles in England and Wales per year
For each year, for as far back as your records go.

Thank you for your request.
We do not hold information regarding measles notifications. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and Public Health Wales are responsible for publishing the number of measles cases reported in England and Wales each year.
For deaths registered between 1979 and 2024, there were a total of 184 deaths registered in England and Wales where the underlying cause was measles. The accompanying tables provides this figure by year of registration.
Historical data for deaths due to measles for the years 1901 to 1978 can be found in our 20th Century Mortality Files.
