Please see the following publication: Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provisional. This provides coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths by age for latest available dates. From this, the mean average age can be calculated for the week of your choice.

Calculating mean average age of COVID-19 deaths from Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provisional:

  1. Isolate the part of the table for the required date range
  1. Define a representative age value for each age range group
  1. Add up the total deaths for each age value
  1. Add up the total deaths multiplied by age for each age value

In summary, the mean age = (age x total deaths for each age) divided by (total deaths for each age).
