I would like to request the most recent figures for live birth rates in 2014-2015 for the East Midlands region and also the East Anglia region.

The number of live births and live birth rates for East Midlands and East Anglia are published in Table 3 of the Births Summary Tables release which can be found here: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/livebirths/datasets/birthsummarytables
The data requested for 2014 can be found at the above link. Data for 2015 is scheduled for publication in July/August 2016. As this is intended for future publication and will be freely available to members of the public, we feel Section 22(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act applies whereby information is exempt information if there is a view to publish the information at a future date. The Freedom of Information Act recognises the desirability of information being freely available in its own right, but Section 22 also acknowledges that public authorities must have freedom to be able to determine their own publication timetables. This allows them to deal with the necessary preparation, administration and context of publication.
Other special extracts and tabulations of births data for England and Wales are available (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreement of costs, where appropriate). You do not need to make a Freedom of Information request and can contact the team directly at: vsob@ons.gov.uk
