You asked
I wanted to submit an FOI to ask if there was any data on the number of employed, unemployed and inactive UK citizens with a university degree?
We said
Thank you for your query regarding labour market information for UK citizens by educational attainment.
We publish information on the labour market status of UK nationals on a quarterly basis from the Labour Force Survey (LFS), based on interviews with people resident in households in the UK. This is published in our table A12: Employment, unemployment and economic inactivity by nationality and country of birth.
We also publish information on labour market status by educational attainment from the Annual Population Survey (APS), an annualised dataset derived from LFS interviews. This is published on our Nomis website as part of our annual population survey dataset.
We do not routinely create statistics that combine nationality and educational attainment. You can request a tailored analysis for the information you are interested in by contacting our Social Surveys team. Please note our bespoke services are subject to legal frameworks, resources, disclosure controls, and an agreement of costs in line with the ONS charging policy. As this information is reasonably accessible through another route, even if only accessible on payment, Section 21(2)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) applies.
