I am writing to you to request data on inter-ethnic relationships from the 2011 census. I am defining inter-ethnic relationships as per your definition in https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/marriagecohabitationandcivilpartnerships/articles/whatdoesthe2011censustellusaboutinterethnicrelationships/2014-07-03/
Specifically:
"Inter-ethnic relationships are defined here as a relationship between people living in a couple who are married, in a civil partnership, or cohabiting and each partner identifies with an ethnic group different from the other partner (within any of the 18 ethnic group classifications used in the census)."
I am requesting data on inter-ethnic relationships by age band (using age bands 16-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45+), by sex and by ethnic group (18 ethnic group classifications used in the census). For example, (16-24, Male, Chinese) would need to be accompanied with the numbers of each of the different ethnicities that this group would be in. E.g. if there were 500 Relationships with a Chinese male, aged 16-24 with a White British individual, this would need to be reported.
If it is not possible to get the age band data (although it seems possible based on the link I sent), then just providing the data by sex and by ethnic group would suffice.

The data you require is not available in any of our standard outputs. However, we can look into producing this information for you as a bespoke dataset. Census ad hoc tables are produced in response to user requests and contain combinations of data that are not available in standard publications.
