You asked
I was wondering, if you could tell me if tables for income by local authority exist for 1950s through 1970s and where I could find them. Also, is it possible to find income by occupation and education prior to 1972.

Thank you for your request.
Unfortunately, we do not have the information you requested. Income measures are not available for the 1950s through to the 1970s and we do not publish income estimates by local authority. However, we have published some small area, model-based income estimates, which you can find here: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/personalandhouseholdfinances/incomeandwealth/bulletins/smallareamodelbasedincomeestimates/financialyearending2016
The 2011 EU-SILC ad-hoc module was titled 'Inter-generational transmission of disadvantages', and included information on parents' education, occupations, and financial situation (very good, good, bad etc. - i.e. not actual income) when the respondent was 14. We produced analysis on this, which you can find here: https://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20160105214416/http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/rel/household-income/intergenerational-transmission-of-poverty-in-the-uk---eu/2014/blank.html
