Thank you for your Freedom of Information request on whether or not pregnancy has impact on employees taking more sickness leave as compared to non-pregnant.
We publish estimates of sickness absence by reason within our Sickness absence in the UK labour market release. One of these reasons is Genito-urinary problems, which includes pregnancy problems. Unfortunately, we are unable to split Genito-urinary problems up by pregnancy and other problems, due to the way in which the survey question is asked and responses are coded at interview.
In terms of whether pregnancy has an impact on any reason for sickness absence, unfortunately we do not collect information on whether a respondent is pregnant on the Labour Force Survey (the source for our sickness absence data) so we are unable to analyse these data by this demographic.
