Please supply information for the following:

  • How mental health is a growing problem
  • How COVID-19 has affected mental health
  • How pharmacist/pharmacy teams help with mental health problems
  • If pharmacist/pharmacy teams use mental health resources often when patients who seem to be suffering come in

We have published statistics looking at rates of depression in the adult population, looking at rates before the COVID-19 pandemic (July 2019 to March 2020) and since the COVID-19 pandemic started (June 2020, November 2020, January -- March 2021 and July to August 2021). This also looks at which groups of the population are more likely to experience some form of depression. Information on this release can be found here.

We have also published statistics looking at levels of anxiety in the population between April and May 2020, as outlined in the following release: Coronavirus and anxiety, Great Britain: 3 April 2020 to 10 May 2020.

Additionally, we have published regular statistics on personal wellbeing during the pandemic as part of our Coronavirus and the social impacts on Great Britain publication.

Unfortunately, we do not hold information on how pharmacists/pharmacy teams help with mental health problems or if they use heath resources with patients.
