Please could you kindly provide me with any statistics around 'imams' in Britain?

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request regarding the number of Imams recorded in Census 2021.
On 8 December 2022, we published our topic summary and data on occupation from Census 2021, which included data on broad occupation groups such as the number of people in employment who worked in professional occupations, for local authorities in England and Wales.
Later this year we will be publishing more granular occupation figures from Census 2021. Our analysis will be based on the Standard Occupation Classification (version 2020), which does not include Imams as a specific group.
From phase 3 of our Census 2021 release plans, we can produce write-in answer counts for Imams via our bespoke services. Such services would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources, and agreement of costs. Bespoke requests can be made via our Census Customer Services team Census.CustomerServices@ons.gov.uk.
