1. How many people have died of winter flu or pneumonia at home since October 2020?

2. How many people have died from winter flu or pneumonia in hospital since October 2020

In order to provide the number of deaths involving influenza and pneumonia by place of death, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.

However, this information will be available to commission as bespoke analysis once 2020 data are finalised in summer of 2021. Such services would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources and agreement of costs. If you would like to request this bespoke dataset, please contact health.data@ons.gov.uk at this time should you wish to request this bespoke analysis. Please note, there may be a charge for this work which would be subject to our charging policy.

Please refer to the downloadable datafile beneath Figure 2 for this information. Unfortunately, this dataset does not contain deaths involving influenza and pneumonia by place of death.
