Highest and Lowest individual incomes in the inner and outer London Boroughs

You asked

This FOI is regarding the top 10 highest and lowest individual incomes in London's boroughs. Please could you provide from 2012 up to and including 2020 the:

  • Top 10 highest individual incomes

  • Top 10 lowest individual incomes

  • The employment sector

Please could this information be broken down by financial year and London borough.

Please note London borough should include both outer and inner London boroughs.

The Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE), carried out in April each year, is the most comprehensive source of earnings information in the United Kingdom. ASHE is based on a 1% sample of employee jobs taken from HM Revenue and Customs' Pay As You Earn (PAYE) records.

Individual income information constitutes personal data. Section 39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 (SRSA) renders it an offence to disclose information held by the Statistics Board for statistical purposes that would identify an individual or a body corporate. As we are prohibited by law from publishing statistics in which [insert individuals or individual businesses as applicable] can be identified, we find that Section 44 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) applies. Section 44  is an absolute exemption and no consideration of the public interest test needs to be applied.

If you require this by 2-digit occupation and industry the following tables are available, however, please be aware that many of the percentile estimates are supressed due to the estimates being considered unreliable for practical purposes:
