You asked
I have been looking at the latest Hate Crime statistics (https://researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/CBP-8537/CBP-8537.pdf) and was wondering if you have a breakdown of the incidents by victim type (ethnicity), as there seems to be an equivalent breakdown by perpetrator type available (e.g. the graph on pg. 41/53)
Conversely, I also downloaded a dataset which showed the religious breakdown of victims - 'Number and proportion of religious hate crimes recorded by the police, 2020/21, by perceived religion' - but doesn't have the same information for perpetrators. I would like to receive this information too, if it is available (in similar format to the data table below, but for offenders/perpetrators rather than for victims).

Thank you for your request.
The Office for National Statistics is responsible for publishing statistics from the Crime Survey in England and Wales (CSEW).
The Home Office produce an annual publication titled 'Hate Crime, England and Wales'. Our most recent CSEW estimates can be found in the 2019 to 2020 report. The 2020 to 2021 report does not include CSEW estimates due to the suspension of the face-to-face CSEW in March 2020. For more information on the suspension of the CSEW, please see our User guide to crime statistics for England and Wales: March 2020.
Accompanying the 2019 to 2020 report, Table 15 in the Hate crime, England and Wales, 2019 to 2020: appendix tables show the percentage of adults aged 16 and over who were victims of racially-motivated hate crime, by ethnic group, 2007/08 and 2008/09, 2009/10 to 2011/12, 2012/13 to 2014/15, 2015/16 to 2017/18 and 2017/18 to 2019/20.
Unfortunately, we are not responsible for publishing the number and proportion of religious hate crimes recorded by the police, 2020/21, by perceived religion of the perpetrator. Home Office are responsible for publishing police recorded crime therefore they might be able to help with your query. The Home Office can be contacted at crimeandpolicestats@homeoffice.gov.uk.
