I'm looking to see the relationship between job application and offer according to gender much like this past FOI request but with gender rather than sexual orientation.

If possible, could you separate jobs according to level i.e entry/experienced/managerial.

The tables below provides the Gender breakdowns for both applicants and those offered a job, for the 2019 calendar year, and the 2020 calendar year, based on the date a campaign closed for applications.

Notes:

'Candidates did not categorise themselves' includes:

  • Those who chose not to disclose their Gender.

  • Those who chose to categorise their Gender as something other than the options presented to them.

  • Those who were unable to complete the Diversity Monitoring questionnaire due to circumstance outside of their control at the time of application.

The totals differ from the previously published data for the following reasons:

  • 2019 totals: this data set includes 4 additional offers that were made from the Reserve Lists of 2019 campaigns after the data for the published data was drawn.

  • 2020 totals: the original request was submitted in December 2020, so the published totals were only up to a point in time. This data set includes 230 additional applications received and 335 additional offers made against 2020 campaigns.

Neither the Office for National Statistics, nor the Cross Civil Service Applicant Tracking System associated with Civil Service Jobs, categorise jobs by entry/experienced/managerial. Therefore, this data does not exist.
