We have produced the analysis below for excess deaths 2021, using provisional data. The data is still in provisional state and subject to change. This is to allow the inclusion of late registrations which are deaths which have been referred for Coroner investigation.
We will the finalised data in our Deaths Registered Series 2021 in July 2022, which will include late registrations.

- Non-residents are included in the England and Wales total but not England and Wales separately. For this reason, counts for "England" and "Wales" may not sum to "England and Wales".
Figures are based on geographical boundaries as of February 2021
