Please share the excess deaths in Dorset starting in 2020 - 2024.

The ONS published estimates of excess deaths in the UK in February 2024 using a new methodology. Regional estimates of excess deaths are available in the accompanying dataset. However, it is not possible currently to use the ONS model to produce estimates by county.
ONS estimates of excess deaths by local authority using a previous methodology which is no longer being used are also available. Prior to March 2020 this information is unfortunately not held.
The Office for Health Improvement and Disparities do publish data on excess deaths by local authority area in England using a similar methodology to the ONS, which provides the data requested between 2023 and 2024.
