We said

Thank you for your request.

1. Our estimate of the population of the UK as at mid-2020 (the latest available estimate) is 67,081,234. This is taken from our latest Estimates of the population for the UK.

2 and 3. Estimates of the number of UK residents whose country of birth is outside the UK, or within the EU, are available from the Population of the UK by country of birth and nationality dataset. These estimates are produced from the Annual Population Survey (APS), which is a different data source than the estimates of the population dataset above. The estimates are accompanied by confidence intervals, which provide a measure of uncertainty around the figures.

The latest available estimate of the population of the UK which was born outside the UK refers to the period July 2019 to June 2020, with an estimate of 9,152,000 and a confidence interval of plus or minus 156,000.

The latest available estimate of the population of the UK which was born in the EU refers to the period July 2019 to June 2020, with an estimate of 3,450,000 and a confidence interval of plus or minus 96,000.

Note the equivalent estimates for the UK population broken down by nationality can also be obtained from the data in the link above.

4. For an estimate of citizens by all recognised countries or territories, the dataset Population of the UK by country of birth and nationality: individual country data contains the data from July 2019 to June 2020. Where APS interviewers do not make contact with people of a particular nationality, we are unable to produce estimates of the numbers for that country.

5. Table P of the most recent GDP data tables shows GDP per head along with the population estimate used to produce it. An extract from the table is copied below:
