We hold the following analysis, Deaths registered in England and Wales - Office for National Statistics (ons.gov.uk), which provides data on deaths registered in England and Wales from 1994 - 2020.

.xls .csvFor 2021, we have published provisional mortality data. This is available via the following link: Deaths Registered weekly in England and Wales. This publication states that, as of 31 December 2021, there were 585,899 deaths registered in England and Wales. To note, this is subject to change as this data are currently provisional.
The official, finalised data for Deaths Registered in England and Wales 2021 will be published in July 2022. This is to allow for as many late registrations to come through as possible. Late registrations occur where deaths are referred to a Coroner for further investigation.
