You asked

I would like to know how many people are:

Full time employed
Part time employed
Self employed
On short hour contracts
On zero hour contracts

How many people have just worked 1 hour in a week? How many are carers? How many are unpaid family workers?

Thank you for your request.

We publish labour market statistics from the Labour Force Survey (LFS). These statistics include employment status and weekly hours worked. The most recent relevant estimates are available via the links below:

We do not hold data on the number of carers, those on short-hour contracts or those who work one hour a week. However, we may be able to create this information for you through our bespoke service. Any such analysis would be outside of the Freedom of Information regime and subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate. Such enquiries should be made to the customer services team of ONS' Social Surveys Division (socialsurveys@ons.gov.uk).

Another route would be to access the anonymised LFS datasets at the UK Data Service, if you are able to run your own analysis. Details of how to access the data can be found here: http://ukdataservice.ac.uk/get-data/how-to-access.aspx. Data can be downloaded free of charge for non-commercial purposes but if charges are applicable, you will be notified during the ordering process. Further details are available at the following links:
