Thank you for your request.

Estimates of the number of people in employment by disability status, sourced from the Labour Force Survey (LFS), are published on a quarterly basis in Dataset A08 on our website:

https://www.ons.gov.uk/employmentandlabourmarket/peopleinwork/employmentandemployeetypes/datasets/labourmarketstatusofdisabledpeoplea08

In addition, estimates of the number of people who have received job-related training or education in the last 13 weeks, sourced from the Annual Population Survey (APS), are available on the Nomis website (https://www.nomisweb.co.uk/). They can be accessed as follows:

  • On the Nomis homepage, select 'Query data' under 'Data Downloads'.
  • Select 'Annual Population Survey/Labour Force Survey' then select 'Current' then choose 'annual population survey (Dec 2004 to Dec 2019)'.
  • On the next page you can create your data extract by making appropriate selections from the 'Geography', 'Date' and 'Variable' categories. Under 'Variable' choose the 'Job-related training (SIC2007)' category and then you can tick whichever options you are interested in.
  • Once you've made your selections you can download the data in the format of your choice.

Unfortunately, we do not routinely publish statistics that include both a disability and job-related training breakdown. This would need to be created as part of our bespoke service. Such a service would fall outside of the Freedom of Information regime and would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreement of costs where appropriate. If you would like to enquire about obtaining these estimates, please contact the customer services team of ONS's Social Surveys Division at socialsurveys@ons.gov.uk.

Another route would be to access the anonymised LFS/APS datasets at the UK Data Service if you are able to run your own analysis. Data can be downloaded free of charge for non-commercial purposes but if charges are applicable, you will be notified during the ordering process. Details of how to access the data can be found here: http://ukdataservice.ac.uk/get-data/how-to-access.aspx.

While it does not directly address your question, you may be interested in some disability-related analysis that was published on our website at the end of last year. As part of this release, there was an article on disability and education, which included statistics on the proportion of disabled and non-disabled people by highest level of qualification:

In addition, a separate article looked at disability and employment, and contains other statistics you may find useful:
