Divorce statistics for the UK are produced separately for each constituent country by their respective statistical offices: the Office for National Statistics (ONS) for England and Wales, the Scottish Government (SG) for Scotland and the Northern Ireland Statistics Research Agency (NISRA) for Northern Ireland.
Statistics on the number of divorces by reason for divorce can be found in our annual Divorces in England and Wales publication. Data for 2018, the latest statistics available, and earlier years can be found in table 5 of the 2018 downloadable excel file. Divorce statistics are not available for geographic areas within England and Wales because the data provided to us by the courts do not contain information on the area of residence of the individuals involved.
