Please could I request the following data on the entire ONS workforce.
1. Overall declaration rates on ONS' HR system as a percentage for each of the following protected characteristics:
- Socio-economic background
- Gender Identity
- Ethnicity
- Disability
- Sexual Orientation
- Religion
Time frames:
- As at 31 July 2021
- As at 31 December 2021
- As at 31 July 2022
- As at 31 December 2022
- As at 31 July 2023
- As at 31 December 2023
2. Percentage of all ONS employees who answered 'Yes', 'No', or 'Prefer not to say' for each of the following characteristic data onto ONS' HR system and the percentage of employees who had not entered a declaration.
e.g. Of all ONS employees, 25% answered 'Yes', 25% answered 'No', 25% answered 'Prefer not to say', 25% had not answered this question.

Q1. We do not ask colleagues to make a single declaration on their socio-economic background. We therefore do not hold a single declaration rate percentage we can share to meet the request.
The overall declaration rates have been provided for the other requested workforce characteristics for the periods quoted. Please the associated download named 'FOI 1914 - Overall declaration rates for ONS staff - Gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, and religion'.
Q2. We have provided the percentage of those that made an actual declaration, please see the associated download named 'FOI 1914 - Declarations against a recognised characteristic - ONS employees'.
