You asked

I would like to access data to know how many people have died within 28 days of receiving a COVID-19 vaccination in the UK.

We said

Thank you for your request.

We are responsible for the provision of mortality statistics for England and Wales. National Records Scotland (NRS) and the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Therefore, we do not hold the requested information for the whole of the UK. Should you wish to obtain Scottish or Northern Irish statistics, NRS and NISRA can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.

Unfortunately, we also do not hold analysis showing deaths from all causes within 28 days of having the COVID-19 vaccine for England and Wales.

In case it is of interest, we hold vaccination data for England and we are currently developing our analytical plans with an intention to publish statistics on vaccination effectiveness soon. Once we have finalised these plans a publication date will be announced on our Release Calendar.

Deaths that have been directly attributed to the vaccine, due to adverse reaction, in England and Wales can be found in table 12 of our Monthly Mortality Analysis. There are currently 0 deaths registered with the aligning ICD codes for this. However, should this change, they will be updated in this table.
