Thank you for your request.
Unfortunately, we do not hold digital death registration data prior to 1959. Therefore we are unable to provide data for the time period and location you have requested.
We have previously produced national figures for the dates you are interested in. These are available on the ONS website in the statistical bulletin named Deaths registered in England and Wales. Table 1 contains the number of deaths, crude and age-standardised-mortality rates (ASMRs) by sex and country, for deaths registered between 1838 and 2024, for England and Wales.
The national archive holds the 20th Century Mortality Files, 1901-2000 which contains the number of deaths by sex, age group and underlying cause, for deaths registered in England and Wales.
The UK data service holds the Great Britain Historical Database. This contains the number of deaths registered in London by cause for the years 1851 to 1910. This data was originally published in the reports of the Registrar-General for England and Wales. It was computerised by the Great Britain Historical GIS Project and its collaborators.
