You asked

I would like to know if there are more people dying for any cause because the had a COVID shot than the ones that decide not having any COVID shot.

I would like to have a table, normalized by 100.000 people (for example)

Where the columns are:

1) Age group

2) Injected at least once with one of the COVID vaccines

3) Not injected with any of the COVID vaccine

And the rows are the age groups of 10 years, over 100, 90-100, 80-90, 70-80, etc covering children as well.

With the counts per 100.000 people.

With a total at the bottom.

Thank you for your request.

We hold analysis showing those who have died from any cause who had received at least 1 dose of a vaccine and for unvaccinated people in our deaths by vaccination status release for people aged 10+. The data can be found in the reference tables, accessible via the following link: Deaths by vaccinations status reference tables.

Also included in this release are age-standardised mortality rates by age group and vaccination status, split by dose and time since dose. The youngest age group is 18-39. We do not publish crude rates but these could be calculated from the counts and populations in the reference tables, by age group and for people who have received at least one vaccine and unvaccinated people. Please refer to Table 12 of the linked reference tables, which provides Counts of deaths by vaccination status for all deaths between 1 January and 31 December 2021 in England by age group.

We do not hold analysis of morality rates by vaccination status on children, or for the specific age breakdowns requested. In order to fulfil this request, we would need use a high level of statistical skill and judgement including complex data to link the mortality data to vaccination data form the National Immunisation Management Service (NIMS), the Census 2011 and GP records in order to create a bespoke analysis from which to calculate mortality rates. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests.

However, we plan to publish similar data to the request in future releases of this dataset, including mortality rates for younger ages when the data allows. Please keep an eye on our Release calendar for future updates.
