Thank you for your request.
We are responsible for the production of mortality statistics for England and Wales. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk, respectively.
We have not produced the statistics you require; however, we can create a custom output via our User Requested Data Service.
Data for the specified ICD-10 codes are available from 2001, when ICD-10 was introduced for coding deaths in England and Wales. The latest complete year available is 2025.
Counts of deaths registered in each calendar month, separately for England and Wales by country of residence, where each of the six specified ICD-10 codes was mentioned anywhere on the death certificate, are available to order through our User Requested Data Service (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate).
To request this bespoke output and obtain details of any applicable charges, please contact health.data@ons.gov.uk.
As this information is already available to you via this route, we consider that S21(1) applies to this request and the information does not have to be supplied under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act.
