I would like to request the total yearly deaths for the United Kingdom for the last 10 years, including 2020 up to 31st December 2020.

We are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.
However, in collaboration with these organisations, we have published headline figures within the following publication: Vital statistics in the UK: births, deaths and marriages. The latest UK data we hold is for 2019. 2020 mortality data for Scotland and Northern Ireland will need to be requested from NRS and NISRA respectively.
