You asked

How many people have died in the UK due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) inoculation?

We said

Thank you for your request.

We are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.

Deaths which include adverse reaction to the COVID-19 vaccination as either the underlying cause or contributory mention are recorded in table 12 as part of our Monthly Mortality Analysis. The latest data available is August 2022.

As of August, there have been 51 deaths attributed to adverse reaction to the COVID-19 vaccination, of which 45 have this as the underlying cause of death in England. There are no registered deaths in Wales.

September data will be published on 21 October 2022.
