I would like to request the number of deaths caused by allergic reactions to food based allergens in the UK, on an annual basis, split by age and gender.
I have had a look on ONS but can't find info for either of these codes:
- T78.0 - Anaphylactic shock due to adverse food reaction
- T78.1 - Other adverse food reactions, not elsewhere classified

We are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.
We have produced the following user requested data set but these are not specific to your requested ICD-10 codes:
- Number of deaths where fatal anaphylactic reactions were mentioned anywhere on the death certificate, regions in England, 2001 to 2017 - Office for National Statistics
- Number of deaths where fatal anaphylactic reactions were mentioned anywhere on the death certificate, England and Wales, and regions in England, 2018 - Office for National Statistics

Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data are available to order from the Data & Analysis for Social Care and Health (DASCH) Customer Services team. These extracts are subject to disclosure control, legal frameworks, resources and agreement to costs under the ONS charging policy.
