​Please supply how many people in the United Kingdom have died within 28 days of having any of the COVID-19 vaccines.

We said

​Thank you for your enquiry requesting deaths involving the COVID-19 vaccination.

We are responsible for the provision of mortality statistics for England and Wales. National Records Scotland (NRS) and the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Therefore, we do not hold the requested data for the whole of the UK. Should you wish to obtain this data from NRS and NISRA, they can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.

You may be interested in the following analysis: Deaths involving COVID-19 by vaccination status, England: deaths occurring between 2 January and 2 July 2021. Table 1 shows a count of deaths involving COVID-19 and percentage of all deaths by vaccination status, England, deaths occurring between 2 January and 2 July 2021.

To note, this report does not cover deaths 'due to' vaccination. Number of deaths where adverse reaction to the vaccine was mentioned on the death certificate can be found in Table 12 of our Monthly Mortality Analysis dataset. There are currently 4 deaths registered with the aligning ICD-10 codes for this (U12.9). The latest data available is July 2021.
