You asked

Please may I request mortality data in England for 2010 for people whose deaths have been registered as being caused by pancreatic cancer?

We said

Thank you for your enquiry.

Cause of death is coded using the version 10 of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) for which deaths with an underlying cause of pancreatic cancer are assigned the ICD-10 code C25.

Unfortunately we do not routinely publish cause of death for England only, however table 5 of our deaths registered in England and Wales (series DR) publications contains the total deaths in England and Wales by cause and age group:

https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/datasets/deathsregisteredinenglandandwalesseriesdrreferencetables

In 2010 there were 7,065 deaths where the underlying cause was pancreatic cancer in England and Wales.

The number of deaths to pancreatic cancer in England, by region in 2010 can be obtained from the customer services team of the Vital Statistics Outputs Branch. Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate).
