You asked

Please provide the following information around the vaccination programme and the numbers of deaths across the UK:

The number of people who have had at least 1 vaccination and have then subsequently died from covid since the covid vaccine rollout started in December 2020 up until June 2022?

Alongside that would it be possible to receive the amount of people who have died from covid and not received any covid vaccination since January 2021 up until June 2022 please?

A breakdown in deaths of ages, gender and the monthly logged deaths would be really appreciated as well.

We said

We are responsible for the provision of mortality statistics for England and Wales. National Records Scotland (NRS) and the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Therefore, we do not hold the requested data for the whole of the UK. Should you wish to obtain this data from NRS and NISRA, they can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.

For England and Wales, we produce counts of deaths by month of death (in whole months since the start of the vaccination campaign), by age and vaccination status (unvaccinated and ever vaccinated) for all deaths and deaths involving COVID-19 in our Deaths by Vaccination Status publications. Our latest publication includes data from 1 January 2021 to 31 May 2022. Data for June 2022 is not yet available due to the time taken for deaths to be registered, but will be published in future updates to this publication. The data can be found in Table 8 of the dataset. Ever vaccinated includes people who have had at least 1 dose of vaccination and people are included in this category form the day that they are first vaccinated.

We have further broken down Table 8 by sex in the accompanying download named 'FOI_4248_deaths_by_vaccination_status_age_and_sex', as requested in your breakdowns. Counts less than 3 have been supressed in line with our disclosure policy.

These figures are based on death occurrences for deaths registered by 6 June 2022 (as was used for our publication) and will therefore increase as more deaths are registered. For more information, see our Impact of Registration Delays release. Deaths were defined using the International Classification of Diseases, tenth revision (ICD-10). Deaths involving the coronavirus (COVID-19) are defined here as those with an underlying cause, or any mention of, ICD-10 codes U07.1. Primary and secondary suppression are applied to counts less than 3.
