You asked

I would like to request information with regards to the dates of death rather than the date in which they were registered, ideally from 2010 onwards.

We said

Thank you for your request.

The number of deaths daily by local authority has been produced previously by our Mortality Analysis Team on an ad hoc basis;

https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/adhocs/005798deathsbydateofdeathandlocalauthority2010to2014occurrences

Unfortunately, we do not hold this information more recently than 2014. It would be possible to request more up to mortality information for England and Wales from our Mortality Analysis Team. This would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources and agreement of costs, where appropriate. Such enquires should be made to: mortality@ons.gov.uk. We recommend that you contact them directly in order to discuss your data requirements in more detail.

As the requested information is available via these two routes, we consider that s.21(1) applies to this request and the information does not have to be supplied under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act. S.21(1) is an absolute exemption and no consideration of the public interest test needs to be applied.
