Could you please provide the COVID-19 recorded deaths based on the following criteria:
- The number of COVID-19 related deaths (during the period of 2020 and up to the most recent figures for 2021) for those over 65 (broken down into 5 year age groups – 65-70, 70-75 etc.) and for each age group the number/percentage of deaths associated with the person having underlying health conditions.

Unfortunately, we do not hold analysis showing COVID-19 related deaths by pre-existing condition and the specified age ranges. To fulfil this request, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.
However, for January to July 2020, this information is available in our Deaths involving COVID-19, England and Wales - Office for National Statistics (ons.gov.uk) publication. Table 6a shows deaths involving COVID and pre-existing conditions for ages 45+ in five year age groups and those in the same age brackets with no pre-existing conditions.
We have published Pre-existing conditions of people who died due to COVID-19, England and Wales - Office for National Statistics which provides deaths from January 2020 to December 2020 by two age groups in the dataset in table 2. This is the latest data available.
