To produce analysis on COVID-19 positivity rates by occupation, we have to undertake Standard Occupational Classification coding of the free text work question in the survey. We have undertaken this coding and analysis for some specific occupations. Information on where to find this analysis is provided in the following paragraphs. We do not hold any analysis on other occupations not mentioned.

In our weekly bulletin published on 6 November 2020, we published analysis of the number of school workers, key workers and other professions in England who had COVID-19.  Please see section 9 of the bulletin for this information, accessible via the following link: COVID-19 infection survey, UK: 6 November 2020.

In the November 2020 edition of our Characteristics article, we published modelled daily rates of the percentage of the population testing positive for COVID-19 by age and whether someone works in a patient facing role for England, for the period 01 August and 01 November 2020. Please see tab 2a of the following dataset for this information: Coronavirus infections in the community in England.

We do not collect data on infections resulting in hospitalisations in the Covid Infection Survey. However, Public Health England (PHE) maintain a dashboard which contains this information. This can be accessed via the following link.
