Thank you for your request.

We are responsible for the provision of mortality statistics for England and Wales. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.

The data we hold on COVID-19 hospitalisations in the following bulletin, COVID-19 weekly insights: Latest health indicators in England, are data that we receive from Public Health England (PHE). We do not hold raw data for hospitalisation and therefore do not hold the information you have requested.

Public Health England would be better placed to assist with your query. They can be contacted via email at wn_coronavirus@phe.gov.uk.

In order to provide COVID-19 deaths with no underlying conditions for the WA8 postcode specifically, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.

However, please see the following information related to your request, which may be of interest.

COVID-19 deaths by underlying cause

We have been producing Deaths involving COVID-19, England and Wales in the response to the pandemic. This publication provides analysis showing the number of COVID-19 deaths with no underlying illnesses in England and Wales between March and June 2020.

This publication is currently paused. However, due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 infections and deaths, we are assessing how to resume this dataset safely and will be publishing an update for this to include data from July onwards in the future.

COVID-19 Deaths by MSOA and local authority

Provisional monthly death registration data for England and Wales, broken down by sex, age and country are now available in this monthly publication: Monthly mortality analysis, England and Wales. This publication contains data from July onwards and includes deaths due to COVID-19 and leading causes of death. Additionally, figure 3 contains an interactive map which provides COVID-19 mortality figures by MSOA via the postcode search. Leading causes is also available on table 11 of the monthly mortality dataset and includes figures for the five-year average.

We have published Death registrations and occurrences by local authority and health board. Data is available for Warrington here. In the tables labelled 'Registrations – Pivot table' and 'Occurrences – Pivot table', you can see how the mortality figures vary week on week, using the drop-down toggle and filtering on the week number and cause of death options.

For clarity: The filter/drop-down on the pivot tables for 'All-causes' does not contain COVID-19 deaths. By default, both options are ticked. If you were to untick the COVID-19 option it would deduct from the total deaths, leaving you with deaths from all other causes. Additionally, if both were ticked and you unticked All-causes, it would leave you with the total number of deaths that involved COVID-19.

We also provide a facility via customise my data, you can also filter deaths by week and location here as well.

If you would like to discuss these statistics further, please contact health.data@ons.gov.uk
