COVID-19 deaths on 28 and 29 September 2020

​​My request relates to deaths from Covid-19 with underlying health conditions and Covid-19 only for 28 and 29 September.

Please provide me with actual number of death certificates written on these two days, with data to back up the proof of deaths for deaths with Covid-19 only, deaths with Covid-19 mentioned on the certificate, and all ages.

We are responsible for the production of mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration.  National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Provisional deaths figures for 2020 are available in the following publication: Deaths registered weekly, provisional. Daily COVID-19 deaths (where COVID-19 is mentioned on the death certificate) can be found on the 'COVID-19 -- daily registrations' tab and have also been provided in the following table:

We would be unable to provide you with a breakdown of COVID-19 deaths by pre-existing/no pre-existing conditions nor by age for these two dates, as the figures would be very small and therefore this information would be considered disclosive.
