Please supply the numbers of who died “due to Covid 19”, those numbers “involving Covid 19” and those who died from other causes in care homes. Also, I would like to know how this compares to the same period, March and April of 2021.

Thank you for your enquiry regarding COVID-19 deaths in care homes.
We hold the following analysis regarding deaths in care homes, which is updated every Tuesday: Care home resident deaths registered in England and Wales, provisional - Office for National Statistics (ons.gov.uk).
The 'weekly registrations' tab provides all cause deaths, and the 'weekly registrations by cause' provides deaths 'involving COVID-19', deaths involving diseases involving the respiratory system, and deaths involving influenza and pneumonia with weekly comparisons to 2020.
All cause deaths in care homes from 2020 to September 2021 are reported monthly in Table 14a and 14b of our Monthly Mortality analysis. Data for October 2021 will be published on 23 November 2021.
Unfortunately, we do not hold analysis showing deaths 'due to' COVID-19 in care homes. To fulfil this request, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.
