The Deaths involving COVID-19 by local area and socioeconomic deprivation: deaths occurring between 1 March and 31 May 2020 publication provides Provisional counts of the number of deaths and age-standardised mortality rates involving the coronavirus (COVID-19) between 1 March and 31 May 2020 in England and Wales. Figures are provided by age, sex, geographies down to local authority level and deprivation indices. This is the lowest level of geography available. The next update is provisionally scheduled to be published on 24 July.

Our Death registrations and occurrences by local authority and health board weekly publication shows COVID-19 deaths by local authority level. This will provide data on the place of death, such as care home, hospital, private home or another communal establishment. This is updated every Tuesday. We do not publish age at this level due to the small numbers involved in line with our disclosure policy. Death registrations are recorded by postcode of usual residence. The occurrences workbook will provide date of death, whereas registrations will provide date of death registration.

Our Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provisional publication will provide provisional counts of the number of deaths registered in England and Wales, by age, sex and region, in the latest weeks for which data are available. This includes the most up-to-date figures available for deaths involving the coronavirus (COVID-19). This will provide data by sex and age bands.

For data relating to pre-existing conditions, Deaths involving COVID-19, England and Wales: deaths occurring in April 2020 is our latest publication which provides the number of deaths registered each month in England and Wales, including deaths involving the coronavirus (COVID-19), by age, sex and country with analysis of pre-existing conditions. This will be updated on 19 June.

For deaths by Country of birth, this would be a bespoke request as this data would need to be extracted and tabulated in order to fulfil your request.
