In all the officially recorded deaths for Coronavirus 19 in September, how many death certificates contained only coronavirus as cause of death and how many had coronavirus plus another cause.

The latest data available for COVID-19 deaths with pre-existing and no pre-existing conditions is in the following publication: Deaths involving COVID-19, England and Wales: deaths occurring in June 2020.
Due to the small numbers involved, we are unable to publish figures broken down by pre-existing condition/ no pre-existing condition for July to September as part of our Disclosure control policy. We are continuing to review the number of deaths and may continue this publication in the future, if the numbers are high enough to publish without a disclosure risk.
However, the following publication may be of interest: Monthly mortality analysis, England and Wales. This provides provisional death registration data for England and Wales, broken down by sex, age and country. This includes deaths due to COVID-19 and leading causes of death.
