You asked

I have regularly followed the data from COVID released on the NHS statistics website. ( please see link.  https://www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/01/COVID-19-total-announced-deaths-15-January-2021.xlsx). However I have noticed that since November 7 this has not included a breakdown of ages, even though it states it does and is all up to date.

Therefore I would like to request deaths from COVID from 7/11/20 until today (15/1/21) broken down by age categories please for England.

I would also like to know why this information is no longer being shared on the website.

Thank you for your request.

Unfortunately, the data referenced in your FOI is produced by NHS Digital. Therefore, we are unable to advise why this is no longer published. NHS Digital may be better placed to answer your enquiry. They can be contacted via email at enquiries@nhsdigital.nhs.uk.

ONS publish weekly COVID-19 deaths within our Deaths Registered Weekly in England and Wales publication which is disaggregated into 5-year age bands for England and Wales combined and for the UK.

Alternatively, without age disaggregation, this data is available for England and Wales separately.

Data is available from March 2020 to 22January 2021 (week 3), this is the latest data available. This publication is updated every Tuesday.

In order to provide COVID-19 deaths by age-band for England, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.
