We are responsible for the production of Mortality data for England and Wales, this is driven by information collected from the death certificate at death registration. National Records Scotland (NRS) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk.
As part of a collaboration with the devolved administrations, we do publish headline COVID-19 deaths as part of our Deaths Registered Weekly in England and Wales. However, as we receive Scottish data from NRS for this publication, this data is provisional and subject to change.
