You asked
I am requesting the following from 1 September 2020 to 30 November 2023:
- Covid-19 Deaths
- Covid-19 Hospitalisations
- Influenza Deaths
- Influenza Hospitalisations
For each set of data I would like the data to be grouped by the following ages:
- 0-17
- 18-64
- 64+
For each data set I would also like it grouped by month.

We routinely publish the provisional number of deaths from Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Influenza and Pneumonia combined in our Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales weekly publication.
Final figures for 2022 and prior are available in our annual Deaths registered in England and Wales release.
Further analysis on this topic can be requested via our bespoke services route. Information on COVID-19 and Influenza deaths by age band and month along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order. These services are subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, in line with the ONS Charging Policy. Unfortunately, we do not hold information on the number of hospitalisations for these causes. Whilst we do hold some data on hospitalisations relating to COVID-19, our data is obtained from the Hospital Episode Statistics published by NHS Digital with an approximately 3 month delay. Therefore, we use this data to determine pre-existing conditions and general health of individuals, but not to analyse recent hospitalisations.
