We said

Thank you for your enquiry.

ONS mortality data is taken from information derived from the death certificate at the point of death registration. A UTI may be listed on the death certificate as a contributory mention, but we do not hold this analysis.

We can create a custom output. Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate).

Such enquiries would fall outside of the Freedom of Information regime and should be made to: Health.Data@ons.gov.uk.

We do not hold the number COVID-19 patients treated for UTIs. This data may be held by NHS Digital, so they may be better placed to answer your query. They can be contacted via email at enquiries@nhsdigital.nhs.uk, and by telephone at +44 300 303 5678.
