Please could you provide me with the number of coffee shops in West Yorkshire currently. Furthermore, if possible, could you please provide me with the latest estimate of the number of cups disposed every year in West Yorkshire (preferably specific data for different councils)?

Thank you for your Freedom of Information requesting the number of coffee shops and the estimate number of cups disposed each year in West Yorkshire and the associated districts.
For information, ONS produce an annual publication called UK Business: Activity, size and location. This publication breaks down the number of UK Businesses (registered for VAT and/or PAYE) by geography, employment size-band, industry and legal status. It is created using an extract of the Inter Departmental Business Register (IDBR) taken on 11 March 2022.
The data you have requested is partially available via Nomis. You can manipulate business counts to geography, SIC, status and size bands. The table below provides you with the count of shops/sites in SIC 56102 Unlicensed restaurants and cafes. The lowest level of SIC available is 5 digit, and this covers businesses other than coffee shops.
