Please could you tell me how many charities there are in Manchester?

We produce an annual publication called UK Business: Activity, size and location. This publication breaks down the number of UK Businesses (registered for VAT and/or PAYE) by geography, employment size-band, industry and legal status. It is created using an extract of the Inter Departmental Business Register (IDBR).
The IDBR does hold data on registered charities but only those registered for VAT and/or PAYE with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC). We can produce analysis through our bespoke ad hoc services based on the charities data we hold, however please note as mentioned above this would not encapsulate all UK Registered charities, so may not cover all charities in Manchester.
Such services would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources, and agreement of costs.
